If coming north through Butternut, WI
This route takes you through the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage. If using County B, County F and FF, it is very scenic, but very, very twisty and hilly. Turn south (right on Hwy 51). Turn right (east) on County Road “J” for about 3.7 miles. Turn left on Cedar Lake Circle for 0.5 miles. Turn left on Margaret Lake Road (follow the yellow arrow “Horn’s Cabins” signs). The cabins are located at the very end of Margaret Lake Road (1560 W. Margaret Lake Road) Cabin #1 is on the left and cabin #2 is on the right of the lake house.
Note: The above routes are the easiest, most direct route and takes you right though the town of Mercer where you can stop for groceries, gas, and bait. Some GPS may sent you on County W which could route you on back roads, some of which are narrow, gravel roads. I personally do not recommend those routes.
